No title Painting

Commissioned wall for Österport Gymnasium School, in Ystad, Sweden 2017. Commissioned for the area of the musical program, clients wanted a musical themed piece. Being a Music fiend and a DJ, this was right up my Alley and I Always wanted to paint Freddie Mercury, for example(cause awesome). I was given free hands in general and tried to incorparate as many musical references as possible without being too obvious(am a BIG fan of using motifs/letters as Shapes.) I visited the school Before and asked the student to write down fave/influetial artists and musical Groups, because I wanted the students to feel like a part of the piece(since it's fo them, after all) and to get more inspiration/references). I tried fit as many musical artists and Groups on the students lists in the piece(one student is into house Music production, resulting in me painting "128" in one spot, since it's the "typical" tempo/BPM for house Music), there are Wu-Tang Clan logos as flowing SHAPEs and the cat on the very right is a wink to the basement of the school, a giant Place with LOADS of old 19th Century taxidermed and stuffed (real) animals and other old educational(well…. ) paraphernalia!
