Inspired by the turn of spring and natural colours, this work represents a chaotic aerial view of a coast line corrupted by human intervention and the timeless resistance of nature.

Observations of decaying walls, street art and abandoned buildings come together with Google Earth explorations and photos to create the main concept for a work such as this.

The process of making this work, was firstly to create a roughly realistic painting of a grassy landscape. Then the battle begins between colourful controlled randomness and dark and dirty controlled randomness representing the initial idea.

Tom Glendenning is an artist and muralist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited internationally. He describes his artistic expression as being rooted in the contrasts of colour, mark-making, and texture, as well as controlled randomness. Specifically, Glendenning endeavours to create a "sense of place" within each of his compositions, often focusing on the relationship between urban and natural environments.
