Rashi Shandiliya was born in India and emigrated to New Zealand in 2013. Despite having interest in art since childhood, I graduated in Computer Science. I am Software Engineer for 16 years and gradually turning career in Art now. Art is my childhood obsession and hobby. My first experiences as an artist were when I was 6- or 7-year-old. As a child I received awards for my innate talent from my school and other competitions. From a young age I have believed that I can create anything once I see it in my mind. My influences, I think everything I see and experience in life influences my art in some way, whether directly or indirectly. I believe that being an artist is something that one is born to do and not learn at school. I went on to study through practical experience, learning through trial and error and self-learning studying the works. I use materials like oil color, acrylic color, soft pastels, pencil colors, charcoal & graphite pencils on mediums like sheets, cloth canvas, and hardboard. I do portrait sketching, abstract, real painting and blending of the two. So, if you’d like to get in touch to discuss a project, feel free to contact me.
