About The Artwork

News reports about global warming, and nuclear threats gave rise to this painting. The story line may be dreary, but the paint is "good" and the colors are bright, and the cross frame gives an added dimension of hope. It is an unusual and different painting and fairly large....like it's subject matter.

Born and bred in Boston, Massachusetts (USA) Earliest influences were John Marin, early Dutch Master still life painting, Nancy and Sluggo comics, Batman and Superman comics, then on to TinTin comics Japanese prins (Yoshitoshi, Utamaro, Hiroshige, and Hokusai) Later influences were Richard Yarde, Morton Sachs and Paul Georges Oil is my favorite medium...it can be big, messy and earthy....I also like gouache, which is more intimate and delicate, and ink drawing which is as intimate as gouache but more controlled...at least the way I use these mediums
