In fact the painting behind this old man was landscape. Few months ago I started a painting with a thinking of it should be unique, entirely different from past works. Yes, it started with some abstracts, then to landscape, then to night landscape. Finally it ended with as usual landscape, what I have been doing for years.( For every painting it happens, it’s usual.) It did not satisfy me. So I kept it aside. That work was staring at me for a month. Suddenly I got an idea to do a portrait from the sketches which was done at Thiruvannaamalai, on that night landscape background. I decided to do this portrait, when I was painting this work, I noticed that, it seems like a particular religious man. So I have stopped that work. Again it was staring at me for a month. After that I have transformed him to a common man. It’s a palette knife work. The landscape behind this old man was also palette knife. It was very interesting to work on that texture. Mostly I had to go on its way. This painting may have flaws. But for me, I have satisfied with this mood, feeling & vibration. If it did not satisfy me, it would not have come to your view. Again I and he would have been staring each other. If this work make you little vibration, it’s enough for me.
