OXIDATION TRILOGY Painting

OXIDATION TRILOGY is inspired by the ageing of precious metals and the colours that they create. It is part of a series of tactile piece. The whole collection is based around the will to create a physical connection between the artwork and the buyer. The paintings are made by a mixture of acrylic paint and non-toxic resin, creating different textures that are then topped by a patchwork layer of gold, silver and copper leaf, which in combination with specific acids oxidate and create different patterns and colours. The bottom part of each canvas is raised using layers of plaster, topped with gold, silver and copper leaf, to create more depth and contrast. This trilogy is made up three 30x30 canvases, framed in a light coloured frame with hanging hardware included.
