Three years ago, leaving Barcelona, shortly before the flight, I suddenly had a clear idea of these works. The fact is that on that trip I did not specifically visit any of the local museums. I remembered all too well what and where is exhibited in Barcelona, and just decided to take a break. Apparently for this reason, my brain did not ask me any questions, as it happens after an intense visual load, but immediately issued a finished product. What I saw was quite self-sufficient, confident and persistently asking to be on the canvas. The idea was fully formed by my subconscious. It only remained to comprehend the visualization options, and there was no need to puzzle over global problems. The works presented in the Imperfect Rules series solve at least three main tasks: - Painting as an independent decorative element of the interior; - Painting as an intriguing derivative of abstraction, minimalism and constructivism; - The game element and conceptual meaning that make up the composition. The essence of the idea: Anyone once asks about the structure of the world. Imperfect rules are precisely those laws, principles, systemic relationships, or constraints of any kind that we deal with throughout life. Rules change very quickly these days. And if not yet at the speed of light, but with such an acceleration that not everyone can keep up with it. Having determined our status in the system and tying ourselves to a certain grid of coordinates, we remain in a cell of a huge network for many years or even decades. We do not always feel when the web is ripping, twisting, or when the system changes shape in accordance with new laws. This often causes problems when interacting with the ubiquitous system. Pictures from the Imperfect Rules series offer the viewer an encrypted and intriguing dialogue. In fact, they are designed to remind him of the inconstancy of the relationship between a person and a system. Faced with such an image, the mind involuntarily tries to analyze and understand what it sees. Determine what is actually depicted, and according to what laws the interaction takes place. Unlike dialogue with images in the style of minimalism, constructivism or abstraction, the message read by the viewer may seem absurd at first glance, but it is precisely it that engenders the beginning of a productive dialogue between the viewer and the system. At first this happens on the surface of the canvas, but gradually it goes beyond its limits.
