Painting, Oil on Canvas
Size: 31.5 W x 35.4 H x 0.9 D in
Ships in a Box
The work is done on canvas on a stretcher. Technically done with acrylic and oil paints in the style of pointillism (small dots) and the technique of pouring. The work is done in a multi-layer technique of digging. More than 40 layers of small dots in total. Each layer was dried before the next layer was instilled. The dark surface of the water consists of 18 shades of small dots. The plot reflects the famous flying Dutchman - the ghost ship "Octavius" - a frozen ship. Which for 17 years has appeared among the frightening sailors of icebergs. He was last seen in 1775. The work was written for 3.5 months, taking into account the drying of each layer of small dots. Otherwise, all the dots would be mixed and the paint would float. The work is unique in that it will always be in a single copy. It is impossible to write a replay even for the author because of the complexity and uniqueness of the technical performance.

About Gennady Guryev - doing his favorite thing in the field of practical psychology, extreme psychology, psychoecology. Investigating various directions of individual states of a person, practicing in research on mind control, observing the behavior of the subject through the practice of psychotechnology. Developed the idea of psychocorrection in the use of subconscious messages to change the will in the treatment of a person. Gennady came to the conclusion that many of the studied moments from these practices, which the researcher and the researcher himself see in his mind, are very difficult to retold orally to understand the full picture. And the use of attracted artists from outside to reflect the visual perception of psychotechnology and reflect this in drawings was not effective, due to the fact that the artists did not reflect what they themselves saw, but what they heard in the retelling. And it just greatly skewed the results. Then Gennady Guriev, at a conference of scientists in 2014, expressed the idea that researchers of these subconscious and conscious psychotechnologies should conduct visual perception themselves, transmitting it through drawing and painting. The Scientific Council agreed with the idea, but they were not really going to implement it. Nobody wanted to master painting at the age of middle years, to learn drawing. Gennady Guryev himself began to study painting, drawing from professional artists, take master classes, and freely attend lectures. Studying the technique of academic painting, he experimented, studied works in the style of impressionism, pointillism, surrealism, expressionism. As a result, I began to develop my own author's presentation in my works. Since then, painting has become a permanent component of the transmission of all thought processes through canvas. And in 2016, under the impression of the underwater world of the Pacific Ocean, Gennady held his first author's exhibition in Melbourne. Since then, she has been regularly invited to participate in exhibitions, competitions, fairs, presentations. Currently, Gennady is very actively interested in the style of pointillism. And these works are especially recognizable for their semantic plot. https://genry.in.gallerix.ru
