This painting was derived from a photo shoot of a surfing competition in Yallingup, Western Australia, in October 2014. The massive surf and the colours of the stormy ocean encapsulated me to want to develop my technical skills and also for the memory of the pure enjoyment it felt to be engulfed within this landscape.

Rebecca Morgan was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1983. She gained a B.A in Visual Arts from Edith Cowan University in 2005. After her studies, she travelled and lived in France, England and New Zealand. Morgan returned to Perth in 2010 to set up studio to continue her painting practise.
