Subject of the work: Superstitions about shoes. This solitary (odd) shoe, resting on metal, according to superstitions, invokes the dead. But what else can this shoe mean? If worn alone, without its pair, it is said to foretell the death of one of the parents. Romanians also say that if you walk with a single shoe, madness awaits you. If one shoe falls off your foot, and you take a few steps with only one foot shod, it is believed that you attract bad luck, and you will have as many bad days as steps taken with the bare foot. It is considered unlucky if unpaired shoes are crossed on the floor or if they are worn incorrectly. Furthermore, placing shoes on the table not only brings bad luck but also foretells the premonition of a hanging. If new shoes start to squeak, it means you haven't paid enough for them, and you still owe something somewhere. It is said that the groom who manages to step on the bride's shoe first will be the head of the household and marriage. That's why many brides strive to step on their husbands' shoes immediately after the wedding. If the groom succeeds in stepping on the bride's shoe first, then she must step on his immediately to avoid being indebted. The bride should write the names of unmarried friends on the sole of her right shoe, and when she leaves the church, she must wipe the sole of the shoe on the threshold. The names that are wiped away indicate which girls will also get married in that year. If the bride wears shoes bought by the groom, it's good to put two garlic cloves or two peppercorns in them to have two children with her husband. The artwork can be seen as advice against putting too much faith in certain rumors, urging one to think twice about the contemplated action. It might be viewed somewhat ironically, but not with ignorance.

A primary reason why I chose the world of art was the opportunity to visualize the world we live in through a different lens and explore various perspectives. It's about admiring the world despite the challenges an artist faces at the beginning of their journey. The goal is to captivate a diverse audience with ideas that can resonate with people from all walks of life, opening their eyes to new approaches and fostering a broader appreciation for art. I chose the path of art, setting aside sports, to illustrate my own world, addressing certain ironic situations that surround us at every step, such as superstitions. For these, I have created a collection of paintings inspired by the works of the famous surrealist artist Rene Magritte.
