About The Artwork
This is dedciated to Greece. It's an homage to the colours, water and white village houses on the beautiful islands I can only dream about, when I am not there. It was a part of a series of four paintings I made about different destinations in Europe with flowers and cut plants in a vase as the central motif. It's when you daydream of being somewhere else, whilst looking at something from the everyday, when the slightest things remind you of a place you have visited or miss. It was made to be a clean contemporary piece of art, and be uplifting through it's colour and design. It is designed to hang directly onto a wall with no frame required, so the painting is proud of the wall. The natural world is very important to me, and I want to use wood in a frugal way. I use wood panels to cut down on the multiple materials I use in creating an artwork. I am keen to be more environmental in the production of my work, and am constantly revising this process. It is all hand made and this is part of the work both creatively and conceptually.

Kipling Hunt is best described as a multi-disciplinary fine artist. Colour, concept, craft and collaboration have all been key components in her work so far. Born in London, Hunt has also lived in Barcelona, Birmingham and in semi-rural isolation on the borders of Wales. This gave Hunt great insight and a comprehensive knowledge of artists both practicing and those now deceased; and a working blueprint of what goes on behind the scenes to oil the wheels of the global art market. Hunt has been an active member of the sub-committee, primarily in the foreign film sector, of the British Independent Film Awards – as a viewer and voter of films for over ten years.
