I drew a 660-year-old wisteria flower "Shogun Fuji" blooming in the precincts of Onakatomi Shrine in Ogori City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The color of the trunk was drawn not only the visually visible color, but also the impression I received. In order to emphasize the power of the trunk, we simplified the ground and the back. In addition, by placing something powerful in the center, it also had the effect of feeling the vastness of the place. Personally, this is a novel. It reminds me of the Golden Land in "1984" (written by George Orwell). The title "Old-fashioned gestures that nitify the whole culture and the entire thought system" was influenced by the scene, and the trees of the old era, which have been alive for 660 years, show that they are blooming proudly regardless of culture, thought system, etc. I'm doing. By drawing the dark blue in the back and the light brown on the ground, and the yellow of the trunk and the purple of the wisteria flowers, it becomes two pairs of complementary colors (cross-shaped) in the heal ring, expressing a sense of strength and openness. At the exhibition "Minerva 2023", it was exhibited at Maru Gallery in London and Kyoto Kyocera Museum of Art.
