Are you afraid of getting old? In Kenya, Africa, there's a tribe, "Turkana" which is very culture rich. The elderly women have very flashy jewelry of which they put on quite a lot. The jewelry mostly made of beads, leather and some metal pieces. There's this old woman's face that caught my attention and I couldn't help it but put the face on a piece of canvas for everyone to see her through my eyes. You can clearly tell that her life is a whole adventure. Her face tells the stories of the past. She was old and still strong, full of knowledge and wisdom. A gem crafted by time and still living a life forged by her forefathers. She was old and beautiful, her face alone was a piece of art. The surface I painted on is Kitenge/ Ankara a fabric of African origin. I just wanted to make sure that the piece held a sense of culture and art.

Gerald Milanzi is a self taught independent artist and a conservation biologist. He creates traditional artwork mostly realistic and abstract paintings . He works with acrylic paint and sometimes oil too. His works mostly express and define the human form and lifestyle. He also expresses the African cultures as paintings. All works are predominantly on canvas and preferred surfaces like linen or suitable pieces of cloth. You can look at his amazing artworks here. "At a young age I always felt the urge to create drawings and water color paintings, which I did extensively". "Growing up, I almost left out my passion for something else. At the end of it all I decided to turn back to art". Milanzi never went to art school it is just by pure passion and practice which may also be termed as talent. What do you think?
