ABOUT THE ARTWORK
One whole mangosteen and one with the top half of the skin removed. There are so many exciting contrasts in these fruits: the slightly rough, red-violet outer skin, the yellow-green leaves with the massive green stalk; below the removed peel the whitish flesh surrounded by a bright red inside of the peel. In the background three shiny green leaves. The contrasts are further enhanced by the light gray background with beige colored rectangles. Acrylic on canvas panel, sealed with age-resistant varnish.
