ABOUT THE ARTIST: Olena Nylivna Yablonska – was born on 28th of August, 1918, in Smolensk city, Russia. She studied at Kyiv Art College, Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Eleva K., Krichevsky F., Shovkunenko O., Kotov P. Worked in the field of easel painting and poster. Combined the everyday genre with the industrial landscape, painted landscapes, still life, thematic paintings. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukrainian SSR since 1944. Since 1946 she participated in republican, all-union and international exhibitions. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1977. Major works: "Restoration of the blast furnace" (1945), "In the native land" (1964), "November" (1967), "April" (1970), "Summer" (1971), "Khreshchatyk", "Harvest of apples" "Blossom poppy", "Geese" and others. Works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Lugansk Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Fine Art in Kyiv, and other private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Canada, USA. Olena Nylivna died on 25th of March, 2009.
