ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Out on a Limb" This painting, also from my trip to Costa Rica, was inspired by photographs of hundreds of birds perching in the trees of the animal rescue farm I visited there. These birds, Scarlet Red Macaws, are native to South America, are the largest in the Parrot family and are adorned with beautiful colorful feathers that reach up to 33" in length. Macaws mate for life and this colorful couple is out on a limb for life. I painted the birds in muted tones to indicate the seriousness of their relationship.
