Peter Marcovic, curator “My main focus became the relationship between light and dark, two powerful concepts that carry a philosophical and spiritual pandora box about our existence. The simple thought arises as a whisper that becomes the subtle presence of light in the darkness. I work with fluorescent colors and pigments to create a universe of brightness and vivid chromatics. In each painting, I emphasize the essence of nature through subtle contrasts and raw colors highlighted by modulated matter, almost in the manner of alchemical practice. The artworks provide a code of my perspective from which I choose either to prohibit the ardent passions or to let them lead me to revelations through the infinite transmissions of light. Light metamorphoses into rational analysis and solutions that lead us on unknown paths guided, again, by free will and fiercely rooted in a universal plan. I use fluorescent pigments to enable the observer into another dimension. Perception becomes key in this dominance game between lights and shadows. Each composition transforms depending on the scenography, like a moving pictorial sculpture. I work according to a concept (ex.: Light penetrates darkness, La vie en rose, The Journey of the Ant), I experiment with several means and techniques and discover new ones and mix them.
