PEYOTE HEARTS belong to the various families of the Happy World Seres. I am inspired by the culture of the Huichol people, an indigenous population located in the center of Mexico, mainly in the states of Jalisco and Nayarit. Among many things, the Huicholes are characterized for the use and consumption of Peyote for religious purposes. Happy World Series, deals with the morphology and architecture of the peyote plant, as well as for its effects. At the same time, I re interpreted the aesthetics of the Huichol art, as the result of the effects of peyote. As in all I do; Geometry is still present in my work. Happy World comprises of Painting on latex, canvas, MDF board and Digital; also various types of sculptures, as well as installations. This artwork is not framed but is ready to hang. Note: The colors in the images shown may vary depending on the resolution of the screen of the device from which they are viewed.

Mexico
From my early age I have been attracted to architecture and I discovered that modernism is the style that inspires me the most but also the aesthetic legacy of the popular arts of Mexico, especially the indigenous arts, and I thought, how would it be to mix it with the aesthetic concepts of the handicrafts and textiles of these ancient people? I confess that it has been an arduous task of permanent experimentation and I can say that from the beginning of my career I have been an abstract minimalist artist but this process has been organically leading me to a metamorphosis where I have allowed myself to go from the extremes of geometric simplism to the saturation of textures of maximalism.
