About The Artistic Waste Series Enamored by the castoff materials generated in the studio, the artist collects and repurposes byproducts of the art-making process. This “artistic waste” includes dried paint scraped from painters' palettes and other found objects such as used paint tubes and masking tape. Unlike traditional artistic media, artistic waste cannot be purchased or manufactured; it must be generated from past creation. By sourcing artifacts of the creative process, this series offers a self-referential portal into artistic pursuit.
