This painting was started on 12 February 2021. I was sent a message in a whatsApp group pointing out that 12/02/2021 (the way the British write the date!) is a palindrome and an ambigram - it reads the same forwards, backwards and upside down . Supposedly you learn something new every day. This seemed to be the new thing learnt on that day, and as a result sparked an idea for a painting. Mixed media painting of acrylic paint, acrylic ink, acrylic markers, transfers and pencil, on gallery wrapped canvas with painted side edges. Signed and dated on the back. Ready to hang, although would also look great framed. Please note that the colours of the original image will differ slightly from the colours you see on your screen. The reds, yellows and oranges are painted with fluorescent acrylic paint and are brighter in real life.

Although the name I am now using is Natalie Parsons, my previous name was Natalie Ballard. Some of my paintings are signed as Natalie Ballard. I will try and add both names to the back of all paintings! I have had a varied and exciting career over the last 25 years. I have worked as a textile designer, an artist, a graphic & web designer and a flash animator. I have created many animations for television shows for the BBC, Channel 4, E4, and Channel 5, and I have met some inspirational people along the way. I always had a passion for art, drawing, textiles, and making and documenting things. I'm excited by life, people, especially things that make me laugh. Anything in my daily life can be a starting point for a painting, and I love the idea that a work takes on a life of it's own and leads me where it wants to go. I grew up in Hertfordshire. I moved to Sussex to go to college, and ended up staying here. I have lived in Brighton on the south coast of England for 22 years. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
