ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Like everything else, every painting is a result of things learn from the previous attempts. This is the third canvas since I leveled up from the drawing trance. With the things I learned and practiced from the last decade, these canvases take flight and present a style in their own right. Figures are still found from the unaltered haystacks. This has become my signature with flowing lines. The idea of being related, yet broken has been a common practice in Chinese art. The lines floating around much like eye floaters distracting our vision, living within us. These lines began to take significance as I outlined them in black starting from this work (top left). They appear as some form of semiotic calligraphy now. I am confident to say there is not a single artist who are approaching art the same way. 2020 is a historical time when everything is steered for a new direction. And my subconscious must have registered this change. ‘Pandemic Spring’ is a piece that documents the present times. How do I feel about the pandemic? I found positivity despite a lot of deaths. I see determination, bravery, persistence, and in these dark times, humanity shines brighter than uneventful years. The piece is allegorical; I find it tedious to do portraiture. I like to approach humanity as a subject more so than the need to make something alike. Putting ‘Empress’, ‘Celestial Moon’ and this side by side, there is a shared presence that is registered in any Master’s work. This could be felt strongly in person especially under a spot light since gold leaf is involved. There is an air of melancholy about this particular one as the textured surface is suggesting. The closed eyes contains a feeling of being acceptance while the tone of the face suggests sickness. The subject is weak and frail, yet it is what it is and we live and hope for the best. It is not intentional to have the facial feature hidden behind a mask and I was certainly not planning to do a piece related to Covid-19 as a gimmick! As subconscious have the say in my style, the artist simply plays along. There was this line across the face of this figure and I simply follow through. Be natural and to adapt has been the basis of my art. Only after decades of work could this mode be assimilated. The level of presentation is not any amateur could have accomplished. I believe it is a higher hand when technique balances with the intuition. Please compare my works within the last 5 years to see how I got to this stage. After all, I agree that investment requires proof and should never be a spur of the moment purchase. Your support would go towards further exposure and development of this art style which, in return, adds value to your collection.

A purchase stays with you for life, your inheritance even, examine and follow the years of development behind before jumping into a contemporary trend that passes. The findings of my paintings/drawings are based on l'automatisme, one that has gone beyond the discovery stage. These work are substantiated with an authentic concept grounded in History. I have demonstrated a lifetime of exploration in the use of lines and shapes, ones that are expressive, experimental, cultural and calligraphic. In art, the potentials lie in that the artist represents a world of his own. Kire believe in score music over Klee/Miro’s musical floating elements in presentations. He brings us a step closer to the musical world in the lines of melody that flow and tie elements tightly into compositions. The intention of where the notation drops should be precise, if one is a good composer, therefore the artist should follow suit. Kire believes that grace overpowers trends and fashion. It is this which transcends the images for generations to appreciate. Whichever era we are in, we are that same human possessing the same emotional needs, requiring that same art quality to fill that appetite. ___________________________ THE VISION. Grace does not come overnight and it is the years behind that makes an Art precious.
