Passage Painting

Nature has a way of saying things in it's tactility and form, and my goal is to use this imagery to express my thoughts, feelings and ideas. This painting feels like a pink swim in on a biological coral reef. It's a curious exploration into paint, image and psyche. I paint intuitively. There is no predetermined outcome in mind when I paint. There is a complex internal dialogue that goes on between myself and the paint when I'm working. I add and remove as I go until a painting has that strong vibration I am looking for. It just appears - when you know you know! I am heavily influenced by the Female Abstract Expressionists and love watery works like Monet's "Waterlillies" and Cy Twombly's "Green Paintings". If I had to label myself I would call myself a "Sensual Formalist".
