ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Passing Shower' is part of a series that I’ve been painting to do with beauty in our everyday urban environment. I painted this scene a few years ago in a near monochromatic palette but I was enticed to attempt a more vibrant version this time around. There's so much that I love about this scene: the single vanishing point perspective; the reflections; the narrow depth of field contrasting sharp and blurred and the way the eye is drawn to the shady figure under the light. This artwork will be exhibited and available to purchase at The Other Art Fair, Sydney, May 2023 The painting has a stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
