About The Artwork

The idea behind the painting was to create an abstract interpretation of a path or pathways. It is part of the artist's “Identity” series, which is a reflection on how an individual is formed. The painting is multi-layered and contains dark blues, greens and copper tones. The topmost layer has a dynamic feel, but on closer inspection the fine lines and colors of the underpainting become apparent. There are many quotes about making a way through the world, but the one that stuck out for the artist was: “An interesting journey never follows a straight path.” The sides of the painting are painted. It is also stretched on a frame and is easy to hang.
