ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My current paintings are based in realism and inspired by moments and memories. This painting and others in this series embrace the sublime hidden in the ordinary. Like the smell of toast and coffee early in the morning while you are still in bed. A celebration of quietly thoughtful gestures and actions that make the path safer for others. This original painting comes with a custom made solid wood frame made by the artist

Janelle Schneider is a Figurative artist with an interest in inter-connectedness. Mainly self-taught, she has been painting using oils and acrylics most of her life. She received a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and has maintained a consistent studio practice concurrently with her career as a digital artist for over 16 years; first in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the more recently here in the Pacific Northwest. Her creative journey has been an exploration of relationship and connection in various forms. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, perception and connection, to create thought-provoking emotionally resonant pieces in acrylic on canvas or wood that inspires dialogue and connection. The artist participated in Washington County Open Studios events in 2023 and 2024. Janelle's painting titled "New Coat" has been included in Studio Visit Magazine, Volume 52, a digital and print publication. Her work is also included in fourteen paintings created for the Suit of Wands in The Science Tarot, which was originally published in Berkeley in 2010. Her work has exhibited in various galleries and art events in the Pacific Northwest, San Francisco Bay and Santa Monica areas and is held in private collections internationally.
