ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My work is a reflection and a study of women. I wanted to use different ways to represent the strong women we know today. I used photos of people I know or simply ones from magazines or advertising. I then deconstructed the image to recreate a personal statement and a new meaning. In this process, I used different techniques to represent all the different aspects that I wanted to highlight. I wanted to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone by taking this new subject.

I was born April 8, 1975 in Gatineau City (formerly Hull), in Canada. I study for two years under master painter Nikolaï Kupriakov. I now live in Ooltewah Tennessee. I paint with oil, acrylic and mixed media. The sources of my inspiration range from sights and sounds that I have personally experienced to things that my mind has conjured up during times of my own silences. I deconstruct the subject and lay the essentials out: light, color, tone, movements and textures. The final product is a reflection of my true self and outlook on life.
