I have often admired the beauty of the Long Tailed Tits from afar, as getting close to them has proven tricky. They are very skittish but on the rare occasion I do catch a glance their beauty always astounds me. One day, whilst working in the garden I heard their birds chorus, as I looked up there they were, about ten in total happily perched on the Ash tree above me. These gregarious birds were collecting seeds and cheerfully talking amongst themselves. This scene captures a small section of that moment where a pair of the tits looked at each other, as the seed of the ash tree draped below them. A number of techniques were used to create the piece including fabric painting, embroidery, quilting and three dimensional textiles techniques. This piece has been professionally framed, with a white mount and white wood grain box frame, with clear glass. It is ready to hang. It measures: Height: 50cm, Width: 27cm, Depth: 2cm, in its frame it measures: Height: 57.5cm, Width: 34cm, Depth: 3cm.

United Kingdom
As a keen artist you will often find me wondering the British countryside, overseeing with a keen eye mother nature at her finest, snapping and sketching the characteristics of all kinds of creatures. From the smallest insect hiding in the warmth of the long grass to the vast landscapes that cover the horizon. I ask why look anywhere else when such beauty is to been seen? I use a wide range of techniques to create three dimensional textiles that capture aspects of nature that I have found beautiful. This beauty I find serves as a reminder of the importance of the natural world, and how we should endeavour to preserve it, this idea has particular importance in society today.
