About The Artwork
I created this tryptych with the intention of demonstrating the concept of perpendicularity. Each panel is a unique expression of the concept. Upon hanging them I realized they suggested a feeling of a forest with large yellow blossoms. The mark making on the surface with stone cement creates a dimensional feeling of tree limbs. This conceptualization creates a dialogue with the viewer, hinting at a new way to observe and appreciate trees in a forest. The works can also be installed in a corner application, to create an even more intense vibration of the yellow blossoms.
