ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have studied the figure for 30 years through classes and drawing sessions and presented it realistically and semi-abstractly. My figures tell stories. The viewers have commented that they find themselves in the paintings. The facial expressions and body language prompts them to remember their own stories. The "Me Too Movement" inspired me to develop "Perplexed." In this scene, three attractive women waitresses are at work. They are pondering over something. Are they anticipating what action they need to take? They seem apprehensive. Have they experienced a threat to their employment? Can the viewer conclude this scene? This painting is painted with oil paint and cold wax medium on board. The cold wax provides a protective mat finish.
