Phoenix Rising Painting

With this painting I wanted to depict the beauty of struggle often found in life. Like a piece of coal turns into a diamond under pressure or a Phoenix is reborn more beautiful than ever after enduring flaming agony, I believe struggles shapes us as people, which is why I used the modeling paste to give this a rougher quality. I poured a red, yellow, gold and black flip cup for the background, representing fire and ash. The miniature Dutch pour, consisting of gold, white, red, and some daliha, reminds me of a flower, like a poppy using the ashes of disaster as fertilizer to grow strong and vibrant instead of letting tragedy be her demise.
