ABOUT THE ARTWORK
DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

In 1994 I created this work using gouache, but in 2005 I washed away gouache and repainted the work with acrylic (black background) and oil (white lines). So it doesn't need to be protected with a glass/plexiglass anymore.

I’m a self-taught artist from Georgia. My works have been exhibited and sold worldwide, they are kept in private collections in UK, USA, France, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, UAE, Japan, Spain, India, Georgia, Austria … I’ve always been inspired by human figure. I love to create multi-figure compositions, with interlaced human figures, with interplay, interactions and transformations of human forms, with people dancing in a weightless and boundless space. I use line as a minimalistic mean for delivering my vision. My works can be divided into three main categories: 1) Line-works (white lines on dark background): “Party”, “Illusion”, “Cube” are examples of this body of work. Human forms, their interaction, linear transformations of the objects, rhythmic play of construction – these are the main features of my work. In those compositions I used line as a minimalistic mean for delivering my thoughts and vision. In my line-works (which I've been creating from 1989 year) in different periods I used gouache, oil, acrylics and markers. In 90's it was mostly gouache. Later I did it with acrylics or oils. From 2014 till now I use matte acrylic for black background and paint-markers for white lines. 2) Oil paintings (oil on canvas/cardboard): “Red flowers”, “Cup of decadence”, “Green construction” are examples of my oil paintings, which are also based on human forms. Other works are abstract or semi-abstract; the examples are “Composition 13”, “Composition 16”, “Composition 17”. The main features of these works are interactions and subtle play of light and dark. 3) Digitally embellished drawings: This body of work is a natural continuation of my line-works. In 2000’s, I began applying digital effects to my drawings. The idea was to enrich simple line and make it look more complex, thus through that complexity create a new kind of form. The examples of this body of work are “Radiant tango”, “Lovers”, “Autumn lovers”.
