About The Artwork

The work is inspired by the sensitive and sentimental side of man, aiming to highlight it as a more human aspect rather than a weakness. The painting represents man in the world, his inner peace, and raises the debate on how modern society portrays men. The choice of paper as the medium reinforces the theme of fragility. The inspiration for the work come from my personal experiences, observations of societal expectations, and a desire to challenge traditional gender roles. and I'm also influenced by somes artists who have explored similar themes or expressed emotions through their artwork. i hope that viewers of the painting will feel a sense of empathy and connection with the subject matter. They may want to provoke thoughts and discussions about societal norms and expectations placed on men, encouraging a reevaluation of these perceptions. The choice of paper as the medium could be intentional to symbolize fragility and vulnerability. Paper is delicate and can easily tear or be damaged, reflecting the idea that the sensitive and sentimental side of man is often seen as fragile in society. The subject matter and style may be chosen to evoke emotions and create a contemplative atmosphere, inviting viewers to reflect on their own perceptions and biases. Overall, my intention may be to challenge societal norms, promote empathy, and encourage a more nuanced understanding of masculinity.

Self-taught Visual Artist Ever since I was little, I liked to doodle on paper, sketch, drawings, but I did it more as a hobby, but I learned to love art with my older brother, Carlos Lopes, who is a geometry and visual arts teacher, watching him paint I started to paint some abstract paintings and then I started to I researched more about the world of art and he showed me the avant-garde artists who became my references and favorite artists. In 2018, he invited me to do an exhibition with him, and I already had a number of paintings already painted, and it was my first collective exhibition. I am passionate about exploring new forms of artistic creation, and I work primarily in the contemporary and abstract art styles. My artistic references include some of the great masters of the art world, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jackson Pollock, and Pablo Picasso. I find inspiration in the simple things of my daily life, as well as in my travels and my imagination. I am always looking for new ways to express my creativity and to achieve different forms. I hope to inspire others to think differently and to see the beauty in the world around them.
