About The Artwork
This piece earned its title, "Pivot or Persevere" after my son 'vandalized' the original painting that was underneath. I had to make lemonade out of the lemons I was given, and this style of work emerged as I spread out the thick amounts of paint he had squeezed all over the piece. "Pivot or Persevere" is also a well known motto among startup community and entrepreneurs. It is about the search for the ideal business model and the tough decision to stay the course or to change direction to improve. I find my work in business and in art to be very similar in that respect, I am constantly evaluating if a project is on the right path or if it needs to be refined. Sometimes starting over with a clean slate gives you the best results, other times you need to show your grit and not give up.
