"Pleased to meet you". Painting

"The girl with a pearl earring" Vermeer first saw in Mauritius 10 years ago. Of course, I was fascinated by the direction of the girl's gaze, when the viewer seems to be looking at him, wherever he was. I, as well as the rest, walked around the picture in circles, trying to reveal the secret. Then in my wildest dreams I did not have that one day I would write pictures, and even more so, I would swing on this masterpiece by Johannes Vermeer - the Dutch mona Lisa.When in a few years I will start painting, from time to time I will want to portray "Girl with an Earring". I went to Delft, walked along the streets and imagined Vermeer walking there. What did he feel like he saw around. Was in his museum. Read about Vermeer. I watched movies. Again and again I visited Mauritius, looked at this masterpieceAnd then came the day when I felt: "I'm ready!" When the "Girl" was completed, a clear story and name emerged. I'm sure she told me this, after we got to know each other better in the process and even made some friends ... I felt that she liked to communicate with me. And she was pleased with the result. She, or perhaps it was Vermeer himself. And he turned to me through the painting as an artist to an artist: "Pleased to meet you!" Perhaps he approved, recognized me as an artist ... I want to leave it for reflection who and with whom is pleased to meet: The girl with me, or I With the Girl, or I with Vermeer, or Vermeer with me, as with the artist ..Creating a foreground in the picture, I added another light source. Now there are two of them in the picture. Representing myself, I chose a combination of colors blue and yellow, emphasizing that I am Ukrainian (this is the colors of the Ukrainian flag). Blue and yellow in the foreground intersect with the flowers of the turban Girls, emphasizing something common between us. A pitcher with brushes tells the viewer that we all became acquainted through painting. Aged and all in paint, a copper pitcher with brushes, brings to the thought that, perhaps, this jug is more than 300 years old, and it belonged to Vermeer himself. Yes, the picture "Girl with an Earring" was written exactly 300 years before my birth, in 1665. Perhaps this is also a sign for me.
