About The Artwork
The initial impetus for my paintings is derived from many disparate sources - my own drawings, television, cinema, my immediate surroundings - and they will often inhabit the same painting. I enjoy the interplay of these competing elements. However, paint is a responsive medium and these initial ideas are frequently subsumed during the process of painting, the resulting image a complete surprise. I use acrylic inks because they are low viscosity, quick drying and allow for swift revisions to the work.
