ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Rick Franciosa was a vibrant soul who brought joy to those around him. Originally from the Bronx, NY, he made his home in Manhattan where he worked as an IT administrator. When not working, Rick could be found roller-skating through Central Park, his love for disco music propelling him forward. Our paths crossed in 1982 and for the next decade, we shared countless memories. This portrait, painted in 1991, captures Rick basking in the Riverside Park sunshine, a favorite pastime of his. Sadly, Rick succumbed to HIV/AIDS. Though he is gone, this portrait serves as a lasting testament to his spirit and will forever hold a special place in my heart. This acrylic on Linen painting will include a 3 inch plain border all around the image so that it can be framed without any loss of image. The artwork will be packed carefully - rolled and bubble-wrapped, inside large diameter cardboard tube, to ensure that it reaches you in perfect condition.
