ABOUT THE ARTWORK
∆ Began in oils and ending in acrylic, this one took on a life of its own towards the end. It started as a straightforward portrait, but became a bit more, provoking a sense of anguish but also hope, looking to the future but staying in now. Reflecting back on itself, with a few Francis Bacon-ish flourishes through the finish, the work began to be less a likeness of the person being painted, and more a symphony of moving parts. ______________________________________________ Part of the 'Sky Arts Portraits' series ∆
