About The Artwork
This is from my Urban Cityscapes collection and was painted just before the elections in Kenya to portray exactly what kind of power sharing the politicians were alluding to when they went to collect votes from the shanty areas in Nairobi. The drama in the sky was a reflection of how I felt during this period of time, but is also a nod to the actual dramatic skies that we enjoy in Nairobi. Painted in Acrylics, and layered slowly with multiple thickness strokes and colours to create a lightly textured surface.
