Contact us.With a degree in Arts and a Bachelor of Graphic Communication, Pierre Bellemare spent over 20 years at the helm of his own agency, Bellemare Graphic Design. His expertise as a designer led him to spearhead major national and international projects, some of which reached audiences in over 65 countries.
For more than 15 years, he has dedicated himself exclusively to his artistic practice. His work has been showcased in prestigious galleries across Canada, the United States, and Europe, as well as in various international group exhibitions. Inspired by his travels and a lifelong passion for music, his creations are fueled by the cultures he encountered throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
From these experiences, he draws the vibrant palette and energetic gestural style that define his unique visual signature. His paintings now grace numerous private and corporate collections across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
A few years ago, Bellemare’s work caught the attention of the Deji Art Museum in Nanjing, China. The museum subsequently acquired 22 large-format pieces and commissioned a series of 20 additional exclusive large-scale paintings to augment its permanent collection.
____________________________
My artistic approach revolves around the power of abstraction as a universal and borderless language. It is deeply fueled by the rhythm of music and the profound impressions left by my travels, particularly across Asia.
I perceive the act of creation as a true visual translation of the intangible—a space where boundaries merge and then fade away to give birth to a unique and expressive work. Abstraction allows me to capture the essence of an emotion, a place, or a sound, propelling it beyond figurative representation.
Rhythm, a fundamental element in music, manifests in my work through energetic and powerful movements, guiding lines, and a dynamic composition—simultaneously free and structured—that leads the viewer’s eye. This freedom of gesture rests on a solid foundation, blending a wealth of graphic and artistic knowledge with experience and fully embraced spontaneity.
Soundscapes and visual landscapes, especially those of Asia with their monumental architecture, vibrant colors, and ancestral traditions, act as a powerful catalyst. I seek to transcribe this energy, this harmony of contrasts, and this cultural richness through intense colors and vigorous brushwork.
