One Christmas day in New Mexico, I went to Pueblo to see the native dances. The landscape was yellow and reddish earth, with no trees. It was very very serene and quiet, when all of a sudden the dancers appeared, beating their drums and wearing bright colors. They seemed to float in a sea of yellow and red earth as they danced. This painting is one of two that symbolize that moment of surprise. The surface of the painting is rough, like the high desert earth. It is wired for hanging.

I am abstract artist with a painterly background, and I use acrylics to achieve my vibrant visions. I layer colors with a traditional approach of brushwork and paint, infusing my canvases with kinetic exuberance and imperfect, yet intentional, intersections of underpainted lines. My art pulses with optimism, inviting onlookers to peer through layers of expression to uncover emotional depth and the mysteries I weave into each piece.
