Rae Chichilnitsky a freelance artist and illustrator, was born in Kishinev (formerly, Soviet Union, currently Moldova). In 1976 she emigrated to America, settling in New York. Currently, she resides in Wilmington, NC. Rae’s artwork involves multiple genres, media, applications, subjects and techniques. In her work she gravitates toward bold, contrasting colors and expressive forms. Her imagery radiates with strong, positive energy and carries a symbolic messages. Some of it resides in private collections and been published nationwide and abroad. Here’s what Rae says about her work: “Art had always been my passion, but only recently, I’ve decided to return to it full time. I mostly work in acrylics, markers, pencils, watercolor and mixed media. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward more decorative style with bright colors and bold images, as it bring joy and radiates positive energy. As part of this, I’ve developed a unique painting technique, I call “Stained Glass on Canvas”, which creates luminous, life-affirming paintings, blending perfectly the craft of colored glass with the fine art of traditional painting...”
