About The Artwork
Razor Art is the name of my second collection that studies the beauty and extraordinary appearance of razor shells. Razor Shells (or Ensis magnus in Latin) are found on sandy beaches in Northern Europe. It was in Northern Holland where I discovered their precious existence. This series brings a contemporary vision of a razor shell, as a representative of nature's work of art and a reminder of our world’s fragility. The shell’s simple, yet magnetic patterns suit any style of interior. Oil canvas speaks of colour in the form of a wave, a rhythm or an ocean. The viewer is drawn in and charmed by the pallet’s vortex. The pure and sophisticated, bold and transparent texture reveals the mysteries of life. Vol.4 focus on bright component of the shell.

Siberian-born, Netherlands-based contemporary artist. I started my art journey in 2016 by taking private lessons from well-known Latvian artist Ilgvars Zalans. My expanding practice is gradually moving from landscapes and still life to abstract compositions. I work with oil, mixed media and digital art to capture the brightest moments of my personal experiences. Nature is a primary inspiration, helping to bring colour and dynamism to each work.
