This piece is inspired by the Aireys Inlet Light House that looks over the beautiful coast line of The Great Ocean Road, Australia. The pale blue reflects the water in the spring months. The white lines figuratively point to the shape of the Light House. The piece is so calming as you can see in the insitu image. It is an upscaled canvas and uses acrylic paint and watercolour highlights washed over the top.

Australia
Rose Marshall is an Australian based artist who concentrates on texture and colour. The subject matter is predominately coastal beaches and Sydney Harbour. The textural element replaces figurative notions. Her process requires heavy layers and much reworking and scraping of the canvas. The last application of colour is also scrapped to allow the texture to dominate. Her works are often a calm representation of water. She runs a sustainable studio by upscaling and reusing canvases, not using mediums or harmful chemicals, and using salt and sand to give texture. Her commitment to good environmental practice is unwavering. Most of her works are along the East coast of Australia with a few pieces in European and American private collections.
