Receiving the Gift of Wisdom Painting

Receiving the Gift of Wisdom was a turning point for me. Since I have only been painting for two years, as I was painting it, I felt a unique and expansive energy and a more knowledgeable sense of creation guiding me. I went deep into its composition and layers and colors and story. I just let myself go, more than I usually do, and after a wild but very pleasant ride, this painting emerged. It tells a story that I have not quite gotten to the heart of, yet. But I will. It’s the type of living, breathing painting that will still talk to me for years. The title is self-explanatory. I owe it much. My paintings, all small size, all 5" W x 7" L, are abstract works in acrylic that dig deep into emotion, mood, depth of feeling, spirit, and the transformative power of magical thinking. I love expressing spacious concepts down to gentle ideas visually in a small space. Using purposeful color, distinctive paint textures, spontaneous abstract composition, I strive to create dreamy snapshots of metaphorical moments in the natural, nonphysical, mystical and spiritual worlds. I call my work “Visual Poetry.”
