About The Artwork
These two oil paintings form a single piece. It's from my series of work called "Subvertisements." In this series, I take a pop culture image, crush it and then render it. In this instance, I overlaid glazes and the world famous "Monopoly Man" on top of two, meticulously painted, crushed, losing California Lottery tickets. These paintings were inspired by the 2008 financial crisis.
