Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

Inspired by the wind. I want to convey circular movement and sound in this piece. It depicts a child's story. The scene takes place at a Mexican market stand. A woman sitting on the floor is selling bright, hand painted, colorful wooden toys. Tops, magic tables, matatenas and pin wheels on a plastic tarp. The kid asks grandma to buy him a pin wheel. She hesitates, but asks the saleswoman for the price. Grandmother goes to her wallet and gets a peso and fifty cents. The kid is ready to run with it. "I want it make it turn, turn, turn with the wind," he thinks! As the kid runs, the wheel turns, making a humming sound. A 24 x 18" acrylic painting on canvas, framed with a white wooden frame "floated" with a purple mate.
