ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Rockabye' is part of a series based on the colourful and often abstract artwork created by my 5 year old son. As a child my brother and I would play a game where one of us would draw a line of some variety and the other would need to make a picture out of that line. I still use this technique to this day to flex my creative muscle. I used this technique to create this series.

I have a keen interest in landscape, natural forms, sculpture, architecture, textiles and jewellery. My work aims to avoid symmetry and search for balance. As an intuitive painter, I do not approach the canvas with an exact plan for what each piece will become. I use my relationship with colour and form to develop abstractions arriving at an organic result.
