The cycle of the “brut” faces, was born at the end of the eighties of the last century. In those years, the international movement of the Transavantgarde had been in vogue in Italy for some years. I was inevitably influenced mainly by the raw style used by the artists of the movement. So the term brut refers to the rough style with which I made these paintings
