Painting: Acrylic, Oil, Enamel on Wood.
Row of silver birch was painted from a scene I came across on the train into London. A sad looking row of trees on the wayside had been lopped off at the middle but were footed by a carpet of luscious grass. It was quite odd because none of the trees next to them had been treated in such a fashion. I wanted to evoke some of that melancholy and contrast in my use of both organic and structured line, with muted vs strong colours.
