Royal Club Cosmos is an original mixed media collaborative artwork created by Dennis Eavenson and Sharon Eavenson in Oct. 2004. This work utilizes surrealism and symbolism with playing cards dealt that produce a Royal Flush hand during a poker card game. With added spirals, light rays and molecular elements we open a dialogue with the viewer for discussing scientific concepts. We address ideas concerning theories about matter, time, space and how it relates to probability and gaming activity as a fundamental cultural behavior. The artwork began when we digitally designed playing cards and scientific symbols. Using them in the composition provided a means of projecting our ideas about the cosmos with regard to time, space and matter. First we the artists printed our images using our Epson Stylus Pro printer with Epson Ultrachrome pigmented inks on canvas. Then we added gestural abstract expressionist marks with acrylic paint, acrylic gel, graphite, colored pencil and oil crayon. Our style is surrealism fused with abstract expressionism and pop culture. Artists signature and date on back of canvas. Final sheet size is 35.5 x24.

About The Artwork

Royal Club Cosmos is an original mixed media collaborative artwork Dennis Eavenson and Sharon Eavenson. This work utilizes playing cards symbols and the character cards that define a Royal Flush hand during a game of poker. With added spirals, light rays and molecular elements we open a dialogue with the viewer for discussing scientific concepts in relationship to the act of gaming. We address ideas concerning theories about matter, time, space and how it relates to probability and gaming activity plus the psychology behind this human cultural behavior. Strong gestural abstract expressionist marks with acrylic paint, acrylic gel, graphite, colored pencil and oil crayon move across the composition and combine with our digital work. Our signatures and date are on the back of this canvas sheet measuring 35.5" x24".

We are also open to considering art commissions and royalty payments on specific original artworks intended for reproduction Our works encompass a wide range of styles and mediums. We see the act of artistic creation a liberating journey filled with passion and joy. Creative exploration generates mental and spiritual growth. It shapes, molds and enriches our existence. Our artwork is a means of commenting on the the world we experience and sharing found insights with others. In unexpected ways we open doors to human spiritual, emotional, political, cultural, and scientific discoveries that drive and challenge our human existence. We are not bound by artistic styles but encompass many in order to communicate themes related to the shared human existence that joins all mankind. The art collector will find a range of working styles that include: abstraction, expressionism, surrealism, realism, symbolism, pop, and a fusion of these categories. We flux and flow with both defined artistic traditions and with current trends in the art world. Medium is selected with theme and concept parameters. Our work includes: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, digital, collage, assemblage, sculpture, relief and found objects. Our artist writings and notebooks contain: installations, environmental and conceptual pieces that we hope to produce. Being an artist is a lifelong pursuit of discovery. Thematic explorations through the decades address science, socio-cultural issues, human behavior, psychology, spirituality and theology. The use of card playing elements and gaming activity refers to the human need for status, dominance and territorial acquisition. Secondary concepts address psychological concerns, gender roles, political power, negotiation tactics and methods for social harmony. Compositions provide the viewer with visual queues for prompting reflection on cultural, psychological stances, political, philosophical and religious themes. Emotional energy and spirituality emanate from these art works filled with pop culture images, personalized signature shapes and scientific symbols.
